With SAG-AFTRA’s strike coming to an end this week, Hollywood has been quickly getting its stars back into promoting their projects, even as the landscape shifts to give movies and shows time to get back into production. But it’s not just upcoming material opening back up—things that dropped during the strike are ready to let us peek behind the curtain.
One such show was Ahsoka, landing right amid the dual Hollywood strikes—giving us little real insight into the making of the show as it happened while it was airing. But overnight into the first day of SAG-AFTRA formally closing its pickets and bringing the strike to an end, several stars from the series took to social media to drop a bevy of clips and pictures from behind-the-scenes.
Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Eman Esfandi in particular, who played Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger on the series, both dropped tons of snaps and little clips from filming on Instagram—everything from a look at Bordizzo’s lightsaber training, to Efsandi posing in Ezra’s reclaimed Stormtrooper armor from the final episode of the series.
There are of course, delightful hijinks too—like Esfandi’s clip of Ivanna Sahko, in full Shin Hati getup, smoking a cigarette as she rides around in a teeny-tiny RV landspeeder, as well as bittersweet looks at Ray Stevenson behind-the-scenes. It might be a little later than anyone had anticipated, but it’s still nice to get a little glimpse into the making of the galaxy far, far away.
